1/02 Howard came back and said that he saw the Kennedy Center Honors where they honored Led Zeppelin. Howard said that they look really old...Robert Plant's eyes are popping out of his head now. Howard said he looks like Marty Feldman. Howard said he's not sure what happened to the guy. He said he must have had a lot of hard living. Howard said Jimmy Page looks like a woman. Zeppelin doesn't look half bad for the amount of hard miles they've put in. Howard couldn't hang with Zeppelin for more than 48 hours back in the 70's.

And Howard didn't say anything about the segment honoring Letterman.

But it sounds like he is bitter that Letterman spilled his guts to Oprah - from Mark's Friggin:

"Howard said Letterman seems to be going on a victory lap by going on Oprah and talking about the interns and stuff. He said you'd think Dave would come on his show after he's been on Dave's show so many times. Howard said he's defending Dave and doing the Leno fight thing. Howard said Dave talks about his struggle with depression and all of that but he won't come there to talk about it. Howard said if he was fucking interns and his couch was taken away he'd be upset too."

Promoters threw millions and millions at Led Zep after the O2 show in an attempt to get them to tour. Robert Plant said no. He didn't think his voice was capable of doing the songs justice and did not want to deliver watered-down versions of what made the band great. In a nutshell, he already had more money than he or his kids and even grand kids could ever spend, and he actually wanted to preserve his legacy. After briefly exploring the idea of going out with another singer, Page and Jones came to the same conclusion.

This notion makes no sense to a person whose entire existence is based on going home at the end of the day with the most marbles in his bag, no,matter how he got them.

I picked up "Celebration Day" on Blu Ray Fri night, damn it kicks all kinds of ass. If that's their "swan song"

Then it's a perfect way to go out.

And Plant is like 10 years older than Howard and as previously said, has a lot of hard miles on him, and STILL looks cooler and more "rock and roll" than Howard ever has.
