    i've made scientific discoveriez concerning grilled cheese

    1) the best cheese for grilled cheese is havarti (p<.05);

    2) "grilled" cheese sandwiches are superior when they are carefully broiled and then toasted in a toaster oven due to the reduced greasiness and fat content and more even cheese melting (p<.01).

    you just don't turn it off.

    I like using different cheeses for grilled cheese sammiches, but I usually use multiple types on the same one. I'll have to pay better attention to a pure Havarti sammich.

    adding a thin slice of something a little bolder in flavor would be great. just a lot of the bold cheeses are greazy/oily and don't lend themselves to a smooth grilled cheese. lots of havarti with something fartier would trump pure havarti, i think.

    Now, for #2, you've got to use TWO appliances? And that's the only way to reject the null at p<.01?

    Oh I thought you meant broiled in your oven, then toasted in a separate toaster oven. I guess your toaster oven also broils? I just have a regular oven.
