"Lincoln" is up for a shitload of awards

Set a record for 13 nominations for Critics Choice Movie Awards:
    http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/n...wards-20121211

And also leads all movies with 7 Golden Globes nominations:
    http://carpetbagger.blogs.nytimes.co...3-nominations/

Yet Stern and Blobbin can't even stay awake for it. And Stern thinks he's a good judge? They are such assholes. Lincoln was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time, and the acting is just fantastic. Stern/Blobbins attention span is that of a 10 year old. Howard even said he was waiting for "Spiderman to swoop on in" during the movie. Howard uses the term "vapid" quite a bit. It fits him to a tee.

You liked it? I'll watch it, but it does look boring. BUT, DDL and Sally Field are fantastic actors and I look forward to seeing their performances.

Sally Field had to fight like hell for that role and it was Daniel-Day Lewis who pushed hard for her after an audition.

That's fantastic! I did read that she had to really lobby to get the role but it's great to hear the DDL really pushed for her. I understand why they initially may have not wanted her as she is 66 years old, much older than DDL. I love her.

A friend of mine did. He said it was really good. I didn't want to even hear about it, though. Too depressing.

You should watch the whole interview with the actresses.

The Hollywood Reporter has a couple of these interviews on You Tube and they're fucking fantastic:

I will. I see that Marion Cotillard is interviewed as well. I LOVE HER. She was so good in La Vie en Rose.

Everyone should have been required to see it before voting. Great documentary, and earned either the most or 2nd most money of any documentary. Totally ignored by the Academy for any awards.

Oh, god, why didn't you say so? Doris Kearns Goodwin is on Meet the Press all the time.

    She's an outstanding historical author.
