He's far from making a comeback. He's been trying for a decade though. Who would have thought that edgy nursery rhymes would have a shelf life?!?

He didn't even write them. Dice stole them flat out from Otto and George. He would watch Otto perform and write down the rhymes and then he put them in his act. Dice also took stuff from Kinison, read Bill Kinison's book and it's hilarious the Dice stuff. And Dice would even go through Jackie's joke books and insert himself in the first person in "guy walks into a bar" style jokes. So it would be "Yeah so I walked into a bar and saw this chick" instead of "a guy walks into a bar and sees a woman sitting alone at a table".

You can see how quick of a comedian Dice is compared to Jackie when they fought on the Stern Show. Jackie buried him. It wasn't even close. Jackie would throw out lines that had Dice speechless and Dice had all month to prepare for his appearance. Guys like Gilbert, Mooney, Rock, come onto the Stern Show and can keep pace with Howard and Jackie. Dice was outmatched and Jackie wasn't even being as vicious as he could have been.

Dice is funny at times, but he's not even in the same genre as someone like Carlin, Hicks, or Kinison. I'll watch his special on tape tomorrow probably. But I'm not expecting anything of a real high level. It's not like when HBO would promo a new Rock or Carlin special and everyone would get excited.
