Hopefully those reading this who might've been aware of Howard Stern in his "shock jock" days realize what an amazing career he's had, and the profound maturation he's undergone during his decades on air. He is truly media royalty to his millions of fans, whose loyalty he has earned by providing 4-5 days/week of amazing radio with some of the best interviews of celebrities, business leaders and government elites - not to mention strippers, porn stars and normal, everyday Joe's. If you didn't grow up listening to Stern, it might be tough for you to understand his resonance with so many dedicated listeners (many of whom have probably become fans of A's.G.T!), but I wish you could. I never cared *that* much for his puerile potty humor, but christ, his broadcast during 9/11, and even his interview w/ Gov. Spitzer's mistress (lol) ... that was amazing radio and I don't look forward to his inevitable retirement. Do yourself a favor - listen to his new material while you can!

Ok things that aren't getting taken in to account are firstly this is English tv so ratings are a lot lower because of the population and secondly here Xmas day and boxing day is a big ratings war with the main soaps.
That article is just a pointless dig at Simon for no reason what so ever, the show was basically a Xmas special for families to watch who don't want to watch the soaps.

btw Game of thrones which is massive over here too has half those ratings

AGT is saddled with an anchor named Stern for season #8.
Stern got Sharon fired and soon Mandel will be fired too....because Stern could not deliver ratings.
AGT & Team Stern have a similar agenda now to make Stern sound amazing.

Stern thinks he'll bring in two new fresh bodies to judge, it will no doubt boost the ratings for nest year, and then he'll get out....then tell everyone how the show was much improved and rising in the ratings (when of coarse we all know it was just a ratings bump because of the new judges and not Howard)...
