Oh wow. I didn't know about that. Perhaps David Lynch's next project is gonna be another Peaks show or movie?? That would be bad ass!!

    SPOILER ALERT:

Well, possibly. It depends on how you interpret the final scene in the Black Lodge, and then the related scenes in Fire Walk With Me. Check out these FAQs: http://www.twinpeaks.org/faqeps.htm and http://www.twinpeaks.org/faqfwwm.htm They basically sum up everything hardcore fans were able to figure out in the 90's on alt.tv.twinpeaks (ah, the memories). The prevailing theory is that Cooper is going to be able to somehow redeem himself (he was found to have imperfect courage, because rather than confront Bob and possibly destroy him resulting in Annie's death, he saved Annie and became the new host for Bob) after the 25 year prophecy. Remember Maddie's final words to him? There was a great page that had quotes and comments from David Lynch, located at ftp://lutetia.uoregon.edu/pub/twin-peaks/final.episode but it's gone and archive.org doesn't have it.

Anyway, as to a follow up, I wouldn't hold your breath. Lynch has said he would like to do it, but also that after Fire Walk With Me bombed, the only way it will ever get done is if he puts up his own money. So, you never know, but don't hold your breath. Lynch has constantly reiterated that had FWWM been a hit, he would have tried to revive the series, though.

EDIT: Also, if you haven't seen the series, read that FAQ after watching it. The biggest criticism of the show is that it doesn't make sense, when in fact 90% or more does, and probably the rest would have if the show hadn't been cancelled (the log lady intros were done to fill in the gaps of what would have been revealed in season 3). You just have to watch it very, very carefully.

Damn. these are two really, really hot pieces.

When I read the subject line, I was hoping they were going to go back and revisit with a new series or mini-series. I know that's not Lynch's style, but I was wishing.

What a genius show this was, so many golden moments.....Andy getting hit by a plank, "New shoes, new shoes" and "Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey, A kiddley divey too, wooden shoe?", all just popped in my head.

It's funny that Lara Flynn Boyle, who by all accounts was a pretentious diva during the making of the show, got upstaged by almost every other chick there, including Fox Moulder.
