I had hoped he'd go into politics after he retired. I didn't know how good he would have been but he'd have been an honest one.

He stole that from heinz guderian...But at least he did his homework and demanded sufficient troops and an exit strategy

It is VERY rare that honest people can succeed in politics.

    And that really sucks.

I worked with Jonathon Winters, and he did a whole routine of improv on the spot for a bunch of us, probably 30 people. It was HILARIOUS and we were all LOL......THEN...

....he segued into a story about creeping up on "Jap" soldiers and cutting their heads off, and having nightmares about it for years. He kinda stopped and looked at our faces, which had gone from LOL to WTF....

....and he tried to laugh it off, saying, "But you don't want to hear about that," really embarrassed he'd gone there. Then he went on and told some other funny stories, but it was a look into the psyche of a man tortured by war

It's just so dehumanizing it's tragic.

But like Shwartzkopf says, still there are things worth fighting for

He was confined for being insane at some point of his life. It used to be part of his comedy routine.

I think I heard something about that. It sure fits, his comedy was ridiculously funny, you really didn't see the punch lines coming, and he really was winging it
