Its hard for me to gaydar these younger kids coming to age . Especially the anime type. My BFF little sister is a HUGE anime fan and she is Dating and living with a very feminine guy who is in to the same stuff but says he is straight. They both still think sex and I dont even think are having is like eww and there in there mid twenties and were just concerned about them but they seem fine and happy playing there dance games.

Myself ,Ryan Lever, Schmoopy and Dark Friday are definitely in this category. and alot of you are displaying symptoms of it. Even Spash the social supposedly nice job guy is on here constantly and even wanting to choose to post here and stay in as to wanting to be with his sister on Christmas . we ALL really need to take a good look at ourselves and address some of these problems for the New year If we want to be better people with more meaningful lives

    1. The person does not take part in society and remains at home.
    2. The person does not take part in or have interest in going to school or work.
    3. The person does not have any close relationships other than with family.
    4. The withdrawal is not a symptom of a psychotic disorder.
    5. These symptoms persist for at least six months.
    Funny you post this, Mario.
Been reflecting on my social interaction for 2012 and they haven't necessarily been pretty.
Lots of house guests, heartbreak, bending over backwards for people and rescuing anyone I could. Not really enjoying any of it.
I live alone. Have for at least 5 yrs.
I had to work and live with some people out in the woods for the past few months, but I could come home on occasion.
I pay A LOT to live alone in comparison to what I make, so I work long hours with people I wouldn't normally hang out with.

Look where I came when i finally get some time alone, though?
2 things: (1) 5 days on the internet is more intellectually stimulating than 3 months worth of social real life flesh and blood interaction.
    (2) The more I hang out alone, the better I feel, but I know it's unhealthy. AND at least i am still social in some way.

SAME! I never get bored or lonely. I am a total fucking hermit that breaks out into dance sometimes. Fuckin weird. But I really love people with all I have...and can't stand them as well.
I started watching anime online cause I saw a show I liked on Toonami. For months I just watched but then got on an anime board.
People IRL were like, "where you been?" and I didn't know how to say, "staying the fuck away from humans" without sounding like a crazy homeless person.
So I just said, "learning photoshop and flyin low"

I blame my job though. Working with Joe Public is taxing on your soul.

Wiki says it can definitly cause or enable it. so yeah it goes hand and hand. I was getting bad anxiety when I was a salesman I was developing panic attacks and even passed out once on the job.

Unlike most Western European countries, Japan's unemployment benefit terminates automatically after three to six months. Many NEETs in Japan are supported by their parents. This support can enable the form of social withdrawal known as the hikikomori phenomenon, which some believe is a reaction to the oppressive Japanese work environment. Routine demands for overtime and personal sacrifice have led to death due from overwork (karōshi) in extreme cases.
