Oh, I agree and, no, I wasn't proud of hiring Hispanics who were likely in the US illegally. It's a pathetic situation but the fact is that the day labor pools in Atlanta very rarely have Americans standing around. There will be some blacks occasionally but they often are ex-cons. I've hired several blacks for projects at my rentals and they have been, with the exception of two blacks, one of which I placed with a buddy who does renovations (he still works for him), all other blacks have been ex-cons with terrible work ethics. In all my years of passing by labor pools, either by gas stations or Home Depots or whatever, I've seen ONE white guy standing around waiting for work. I didn't need labor on the days I saw that ONE white guy and imagine he eventually found steady work.
The other decent black I hired once was out in the day-labor pool because he'd recently been laid off and was trying to raise enough gas money to go back to Arizona. Really great guy, claimed to have been in IT, well-spoken, etc. Never saw him again and imagine he went back to AZ.
That's the thing about day-labor, though. So many of the decent Americans out there are in a transitional position where they are simply trying to make their nut between jobs. The Hispanics? A lot of them do day-labor as a career. Even then, many of the good ones eventually find themselves on a crew doing roofs or landscape or whatever.
But yeah, I agree with your sentiment. But you gotta remember that the feds basically let them in, allowed them to crowd out American labor, and aren't doing much to get them out. It's a problem not of my doing.

I lived in Tampa as a kid when it was one of the last forced-busing towns in the US. It was fucked up.
Another time, my father and I were down in Hollywood, a little outside of Miami I think, when I was a kid. We stayed at some shitty motel. Anyways, around 3 am one morning, there was a commotion in the parking lot. We got up to look and there was a kid screaming and crying against the ice-vending machine wall, cops, firemen, and EMT's around, and a couple guys in HAZMAT suits approaching the kid with some kind of restraint. He got the kid restrained, put some kind of hood on the kid, strapped him to gurney, and put him in an ambulance. The place cleared out of cops and fire and EMT's in less than 5 minutes.
One of the most bizarre things I've seen. But that's fuckin' Florida.

Failure to appear? How could something that big hide anywhere?
Bad mugshots are always fun and I'll have to check out this site.
But, "Faces of Meth" remains a favorite of mine. It's incredible to see how people's appearances change so drastically on this drug.![]()
I completely agree. Its amazing how within six months to a year, you can have a somewhat nice looking man/woman and then you look at their next mugshot and it looks like then have been dragged behind a pick-up truck.
You've got to wonder, if it does so much damage that you can see on the outside, just think what it is doing to the inside!
