DoSomething.org, a non-profit organization that aims to harness teen's "awesome energy" and unleash it on causes they care about, has announced the 20 Most Charitable Celebrities of 2012 and Taylor Swift topped the list!

While the singer was snagging headlines and trophies for her diary-like music, she was also donating serious chunks of cash to important organizations (she gave $4 million to the Country Hall of Fame Museum). Swift also spent hours vising with young cancer victims and became the youngest person to ever receive the Ripple of Hope Award from the Robert F. Kennedy Center for her charity work.

Coming in at number two was Miley Cyrus, no stranger to headlines either. But she garnered all this DoSomething.org ink because she dedicated the last 365 days to promoting Saving Spot! Rescue, a non-profit that is dedicated to finding dogs from high-kill shelters a home. She also embraced TOMS'One Day Without Shoes challenge and helped raise awareness for Save The Music Foundation, theStarkey Hearing Foundation, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Channing Tatum was not only one of ETonline's Entertainers of the Year, but also the most charitable man on DoSomething.org's list at number three. The Sexiest Man Alive helped raise millions for theRainforest Foundation back in April. And along with wife, the newly-pregnant Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Channing supports Angels for Animals and sponsored abused farm animals through Gentle Barn.

Lady Gaga ranked at number four, thanks in no small part to her Born This Way Foundation, which combats bullying and promotes acceptance of the LGBT community. Gaga also pledged $1 million to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. Rounding out the top 5 was Justin Bieber. His Believe Charity Driveraised over $1 million for charity, while he also works with Pencils of Promise to build schools in third-world countries, visits young cancer patients and donated $100,000 so homeless kids could go to school.
