browsers are all javascript based. every time they upgrade some settings that were ok for the older version are wrong or do nothing in the new one. in firefox the prior spellchecker variable was -1 which has no meaning in the latest version. i had to modify mine manually to restore the spellchecker in multi-line boxes.
