I'm noticing something more and more when I'm driving on the interstate

after a more than reasonable amount of time, faster traffic is then forced to pass on the right

but then....

butthurt passive aggressive dickhead in the left lane now decides it's time to hit the gas and floor it, which creates a dangerous, awkward situation trying to get ahead of him as he's gunning it or abandon and pull in again behind him (at which point they start to slow down again).

Again, on the spot execution is the way to go. When I was in the big city, I learned you usually have to fake people out when you do a lane change; If you signal and look around 80% will make a point of not letting you in....ESPECIALLY certain more heavily pigmented and swarthy type persons.....
