Who is going to protect the children from the cops?

We have cops that have tackled and cuffed 5 year olds, we have cops that have beaten mentally disabled children in the hall.

Yes the next response is "Well what happens if the armed guard killers a kid or several with stray fire" and the answer to that is the other guy with a gun is intentionally shooting kids!
Putting guys with guns at schools is insanity. Calling guys with guns to come help after an entire classroom is murdered is the only thing that makes sense.

You were probably surprised that the cops they called in to help at Sandy Hook didn't slaughter the rest of the school when they showed up.

that's a label. it's naive to think that we can make the world a safe place to be. its never been a safe place. in the past we closed our eyes to the true conditions but now because of improvements in communications we are all aware of just how dangerous the world really is. now that we are aware we need to take precautions. you want to label it a "police state"? fine. will our kids be safer? if so, i don't mind labeling it a police state.

Its but one layer of the security needed. What is the alternative leaving kids sitting there like fish in the barrel until help arrives?

$100,000 per armed officer (that's a salary less than most cops get) x 98,817 public schools

    = $9,881,700,000

Oh, and we don't have enough money to pay for teachers.

The most ironic thing about this entire country is this,

We have criminal politicians creating laws for so called "Normal Criminals"

Any of you remember fast and furious? Probably not its really convenient to forget.

I assume Obama and everyone else who uses armed guards is now firing them.

The thing that gets me the most are that most of the high profile people calling for "gun control" live in fucking gated communities patrolled by armed security. Its a case of elitism where if you can buy protection that is fine but if you can't afford it you're left to the wolves.

before 911 my employers were complacent. we drank the koolaide and thought we were safe and we concentrated most of our operations on the east coast. 911 opened our eyes and we decentralized immediately. we spread out globally so no one regional catastrophe will ever shut us down again. all our building s have been hardened to prevent attacks from the streets: a team of armed Sherman tanks cannot damage our lobbies or even reach them now. their shells will not immediately structurally weaken the building (allowing us time to evacuate). yes this was expensive, but we amortized the costs out over the next 50 years as a justifiable expense.

my employers were willing to do this to protect the company; to protect the business; and to protect the employees. why is this so unthinkable for us to take similar measures to protect our families?

I know. And it really is a great way to employ former military looking for work in a tough economy.

People that want to ban semi automatic rifles miss the big picture. Handguns kill more people than anything else in America. Getting kicked to death is more likely than getting shot with a rifle.

one of the loudest and annoying voices of gun control, rahm emanuel, has a phalanx of armed guards 24/7/365. But the rahmster thinks youre either too dumb, irresponsible or not worth protecting...
