out again? hard to not think he's using again. I loved the show, and I love Artie. Sad to hear this news - he's likely relapsed again. Hopefully he finds some peace somewhere and through something that isn't self-medication.

Sadly, I believe this has always been the case.

I do believe that Artie has been off coke since his MadTV days--he replaced it with smack--and the most we can hope for is that he keeps it under control until he dies. What addicts do periodically is relapse. I think that's what we're seeing. Artie also had a history on THSS of sort of "goofing off" in the days preceding a long extended vacation. Guy's got issues up the yin/yang, and the book was supposed to have come out already but hasn't.

Beer League, any of the Comedy Central Roasts, tv guest spots, when he gets stressed out, he always turns to either booze or usually smack to get him through the anxiety. I don't think he can ever really be clean for longer than 10 months. And when he "gets back together" with Adrienne, or Dana, or any of these broads, how much you wanna bet he's the one that crawls back to them? Just so he can get more attention. He pegged it right on Fitzsimmons' show that he shouldn't be with anybody. He's just too unstable to be in a committed relationship.

As for the show, Gilbert and Artie would have made radio gold--with or without Nick in the room. Without Artie, there was no way of saving that show. If I were Nick I'd be pissed beyond belief.
