I really do think the Catholic Church needs to let priests get married. The policy outlived its usefulness, for the first 1000 years of the Catholic Church priests could get married, monks couldn't. That was the whole point of being a monk or a friar. Also, if you are an Eastern Rite Christian, you can still be a priest and get married (for Catholics, there are different rites with their own rules, the Latin, Byzantine and Syriac/Assyrian). I am half Armenian, and my family was Catholic Armenian, not Orthodox, and my grandfather was a Catholic priest.
