10 Worst Movies of 2012

This was my absolute worst of 2012:



Robert Pattinson as a rich guy riding in a limo; I don't even know what the fuck the point of this movie was. When he had a doctor in the limo, giving him a PROSTATE EXAM, I cashed in my chips & turned it off. WHAT. THE. HELL.

I have heard the same thing; I'll watch it on blu ray. I thought that the movie itself wasn't bad, but the marketing was piss poor and so it really underperformed at the box office. And it cost $250 million to make? That's crazy. Also, wasn't Battleship a 2012 movie? I didn't see it but I heard it was a steaming pile of shit.

So far its made $283,000,000 at the box office worldwide. But I heard somewhere it has to make around 600 million to break even. Not sure if thats true or not.

No, really?? I really like David Cronenberg and had hoped that it would be good. I'll watch it anyway b/c my husband is a Cronenberg fan-boy.

agree with all of the movies on the list but for Snow White; I kind of liked that one.

It probably is true. Whatever they say a movie costs to make you must double the total to include the marketing and promotion of the movie. If a movie costs $100 million to produce it will cost another $100 million to promote and they promoted the shit out of that movie. There is actually a formula where a studio has to put out a certain amount of movies even though they know some of those will lose money. I don't understand it but I guess it keeps the business going somehow.

Yeah, Dark Shadows looked terrible.

I don't know if it sucked but it sounds pretty bad. Probably worse than some on that list.

You're spot-on about Burton being stuck in the 90s though. And fish-out-of-water is pretty lazy.

It wasn't bad, but that book is pretty much impossible to make into a movie. It would have been much better as a mini series, but I doubt it would have a big enough audience to justify the budget it would take.
