Wrong. There was never a gag order "don't talk about Howard". It was over one incident with his daughter where O&A came off like creepy stalkers. They talked about Howard all of the time. They still do. Opie is a Stern superfan. Anthony will talk your ass off about 1990-1995 era Stern if you ever meet him in person.
I've been listening to Stern since the early 90s and O&A on and off since 2005, but now I listen daily. Howard literally does not care about O&A. This radio war in basically one way. Howard always smashed them in ratings so Opie's only tactics were to harass Howard's 17-year-old daughter. Then years later the newspapers are harassing Opie's young girlfriend...and he a files a lawsuit (and loses). That's hypocrisy.
Also Anthony hates Dominic Barbara because Dominic represented Anthony's ex-wife and fleeced Anthony out of millions. Anthony once met Dominic in 1994 when Anthony was in the Stern studio. Little did he know a few years later that that fat fucking load would be taking him for seven figures.
The O&A show will never be as good as when Patrice was alive. I re-listen to his Black Phillip show constantly. But O&A are easily the best radio show out right now. High level radio. I listen every single day. And I re-listen to days when Patrice was on all of the time. Find the show on YouTube where Patrice fucks with Gallagher.
Norton is great, Uncle Paul, Chip. Anthony is like young Howard and Billy West combined. Opie is okay as the third mic behind Jim. Song parody contest was great...E-Rock Army. Jocktober is classic (tree on my house). If you liked 90s era Stern then you'll like current O&A.
But to say that Howard every had a gag order on the O&A is just them trying to crate some lame radio feud. It's not true. Howard told them that them obsessing over his high school aged daughter was classless.
