I certainly do. I think I'm working one day that week, but I told everyone else they could get along without me. That's my favorite week of the year and I don't want pesky work to get in the way.

I think I have to work one day too, but I am trying to reschedule that.

We/me are thinking about getting a dog after the holidays, a rescue dog, either a shepherd or a golden I think. It has been years since I had a dog, and I think I am ready for one again.

I love dogs.

My girl is going to be 9 y/o soon. That is old for her breed.

Your dog is gorgeous, but I do not think that I can handle such a large breed, though I have heard nothing but great things about great danes. Really I will get whatever dog I feel a bond with, just that I had a golden growing up, and a shepherd the last time around. All rescues by the way. I hate to think this way, but I figure we could get a puppy after the holidays. Silliest thing people buying dogs as gifts.

I grew up with danes since I was born. So that is the breed for me.

It is so funny because they don't know how big they are and think they are small dogs.

Haha, I heard that before. There was this pretty gal that lived in my neighborhood who had a great dane, and we would talk when she walked by. I would pet the dog, and was always so amazed how smart and gentle they are. You look into their eyes and I swear you can see right into their kind soul.

That is so true. Their size can be too much for some people, but they would not hurt a fly.

I went to Newtown CT today. Stopped at a local Build a Bear before I left and got a teddy bear, but had the gal put 26 hearts in it. Then I paid my tributes, drank a coffee, played with the golden retrievers they had there as therapy dogs, and cried. It was very sad, but I had to do it. [IMG][/IMG]

The media was there too, all over the place. [IMG][/IMG]

Nice pics Fend. We went too on Monday afternoon to pay our respects and drop off some flowers and Teddy Bears for the kids. Sad, sad scene. We were talking to some of the locals who really want the media to GTFO so they can begin to get back to normal lives without cameras all over the outside of the schools. They don't want any more balloons apparently because of the environment.

Really heartbreaking.
