Or do you need as much information as you can get?
IMHO, I'd be totally fine if I didn't hear another word about this incident. Whats done is done, and there is no one in custody. It's over. Let the people heal as best they can now.

No. A news blackout is sort of like a cover up. Just change the channel.
I thought they should never identify the shooters in these mass killings to prevent them from becoming infamous, but people need to know.

I cannot watch anymore, it is far too sad.
Their constant reporting does absolutely nothing positive.
"hi im dave, the welfare queen..... and im to stupid to change the channel on my TV im gonna make a thread and pout about the coverage"
Before the internet, people waited for information. The way Fox News slapped any old shit up there on Friday, we were all better off waiting anyway.
It bothered me. This isn't the first or 5th school shooting...just the first time OUR kids got a letter home about it.
I tried to figure out why it bothered me so much...likely 'cause I would not have chosen to let them know. Perhaps because it offended me that they think we needed other sources to help them, 'cause we're too stupid as parents to do it on our own? However, as was pointed out to me, it's in their faces via social media whether I like it or not, so best to address it.
pretty sure we were part of the problem the other day![]()
The day you give your heart to Jesus, He will set you free.
They were at their dad's for the weekend. They have Ipads. They knew all about it when they got home on Sunday. Much like in Newtown, our kids have been taught "safety precautions" in the event that it hits their school. Get under the desk and put your hands over your heads.
Like that would've saved those poor babies.
I simply told them there was lots of bad people in the world. We can't live our lives in fear though, we still keep going through life.WTF else do you say to children about something so unpredictable, and horrific?
