They most certainly did. If anything that was the only boring part of The Saga, because they probably played that clip 10X in thirty minutes. It was basically nessasary, i wouldnt have wanted it edited any other way, but Stern really ran with it.

If they played the clip AFTER Artie's second call, then yes, it was probably faked. But if they played the 1st clip alone after Artie's second call, it might have not been faked because they might not have cut out the 2nd call.

This was so long ago I doubt that anyone here can claim with 100% certainty that they did play 1st clip before Artie's 2nd call. If someone can dig out Marksfriggin summaries, that would give us the clue was to what dates things happened on.

You are wrong. After they made the first call to chinese Gary, they didn't play it on the air. After Artie made the second call, they called chinese Gary again. Howard then played it on that day where this tape came from. By then R&S had made two calls to chinese Gary and had a release from him.
