To many fake phoney phone calls on THSS. Its amazing that they are not better when they use actors.

Artie called in sick to the show and they used his voice and make the first phone call to a deli. A couple of weeks later Artie was sick again and left a voice mail. Richard/Sal used the new voice mail and called the deli again

The fist phoney call was made before Artie left his new voice message. It phoney call was played on radio. This means that the Deli had provided written consent. Just a couple of weeks later they call the same person who already given them consent. The "deli" knows who calls. If it was real, the deli would not fall for the same joke again that they already given consent to.

Many times they have made similar mistakes. Doing stuff that is impossible to do for real. Like speeding up Richards voice 300% in real time.

Agreed. I think Artie's problems was the last riveting ongoing storyline in the HSS, and as we all know, ended horribly. Howard wrang every dramatic drop out of that one, and a bloated, troubled comedian tries to kill himself for the second time....I remember Howard and Robin trying not to laugh at Artie after his breakdown on HowardTV...shows what scumbags they truly are.

You are wrong. After they made the first call to chinese Gary, they didn't play it on the air. After Artie made the second call, they called chinese Gary again. Howard then played it on that day where this tape came from. By then R&S had made two calls to chinese Gary and had a release from him.

It checks out. Not fake.

THEY DON'T! R&S have said numerous times that they have a ton of really funny pranks that they don't have a permission to play (Gary has insinuated that they're asking for cash and HSS is not willing to pay).

This! Anything their tapes team has put together, other than just random shit, has been un-listenable. In fact i think the tapes teams Sam Kinison special "20 Years Gone" was almost a response to "The Artie Saga", and its not nearly as good (although much more complete).

They most certainly did. If anything that was the only boring part of The Saga, because they probably played that clip 10X in thirty minutes. It was basically nessasary, i wouldnt have wanted it edited any other way, but Stern really ran with it.
