The shooter was an early-college nerd ("Real Genius")

School gunman went to Conn. univ. when he was 16

DANBURY, Conn. (AP) - A spokesman for Western Connecticut State University says the man identified as the gunman who killed 26 children and adults in an elementary school took college classes when he was only 16.
Paul Steinmetz, spokesman for the Danbury school, confirmed Monday that Adam Lanza earned a 3.26 grade point average while a student there. He dropped out of a German language class and withdrew from a computer science class, but earned an A in a computer class, A-minus in American history and B in macroeconomics.
Steinmetz says Lanza was among a small group of 16-year-olds among the school's 5,000 undergraduates.
Steinmetz says Lanza took his last class in the summer of 2009 and didn't return.

    Reminds me of this kid

My freshman roomate was 16 at the time.

He was a nice guy but he fit basically every characteristic of the socailly awkward loner type that would go on a shooting spree. He even had a bit of a random temper (he never snapped at me but got pissed at other things)

I guess that's what happened when I mentioned that I liked listening to nine inch nails and wwf wrestling on my survey when the college matched up roomates.

Fortunately he never came back after thanksgiving break (it was for the better, the kid was clearly uncomfortable at school). I hope all is well with him and figure it is but he does sound alot like these shooters
