I just completed a CBS News telephone survey

The results will be on the CBS evening news Tuesday, December 18. Apparently I'm an important demographic they left a message while I was on vacation and called back today, which did surprise me

They asked the expected questions, approve or disapprove of Congress, the President, etc. Asked about the "fiscal cliff," taxes and debt ceiling, Syria, all the things you would expect.

Then they threw me a few curves

I found the survey interesting, mostly because the questions were so general and the choices for answers so vague they really couldn't get to my real opinion on each issue. they said a reporter may call back to ask more probing questions, but I doubt it.

I always do surveys, I feel bad for the folks who call, I'm sure they get hung up on 100's of times, and I think in general they serve a purpose
