She is mentally ill, Pauley. I believe due to her childhood she never fully developed into an adult. She laughs like a 12 year old girl. Ever see a group of 12 year old girls together? They just laugh and laugh for no reason. That's Robin. And for some reason, Howard has been able to put up with it for years. I sympathize with her due to her health problems. I hope she is able to recover from whatever ails her. However, she is truly crazy and makes it really difficult to listen to the show.

I think we're all forget this^. I remember turning off Howard the first time I heard him years ago because I could stand her inane cackling. I've gotten used to so it doesn't irritate me as much. But she has just been the giggler he puts there to laugh at him, kinda like when he had people clapping in the studio. Jackie and Artie laughing illicited more laughter from others though than Robin ever does. (*kinda Yaqi sounded voice*)

being on the ISDN line and probably flying high on drugs or at least too much rest (bedridden) is the equivalent of posting on the internet or txt'ing. Your balls get bigger and you are prone to being an asshole more, speak your mind more. And if she really is at death's door, she's pulling out all the stops. Although she's always been a "miserable cunt" (her words), it's now amplified 1,000.

to answer your question, he doesn't want her getting any attention. She wants to talk about it, she always has. She said "howard, we nee to talk about what to tell the fans. call me tonight"

and nothing was ever mentioned again.

Howard is sicker mentally than she is physically.

Well I'm trying to look at it rationally minus the emotion. It can't just be about an irrational ego fear of all focus turning to her, I'm thinking its mostly about not wanting to upset the apple cart, avoiding confrontation, business as usual just come in punch the clock and make as little effort as possible which includes avoiding unnecessary expenditure of energy on having an emotion about RQ -- how many times have we heard him say "how do you get a gameshow, perfect job show up to ask a few dumb questions off cue cards and get paid" and realize he's slowly molded his own show into that template.

Seems like "Robin's bed, robin's bed!" song parodies and wackpack pissbag toss contests could be among treasure trove of limitless show material if the details were more forthcoming, OTOH if she's terminal then I see the argument for not turning the channel into RobinDeathwatch100 aka "Is Don on the phone?" Casey Kasem rage about a "goddamn death dedication" coming out of an uptempo number.
