Not sure about Sweden or Switzerland, but Israel has that requirement that everyone has to attend military training and remains a member of the army available to be called up in time of need. they all are issued weapons and ammo to be kept in the home so they can be activated immediately.

I have issues with people automatically blaming the tools as though the availability of devices is the sole cause of events. gun control would not have prevented the current tragedy at all as the guns were apparently legally obtained and stored at the idiot's mother's home. not sure about Hoboken, but some parts of NJ (eg. Monmouth cty) have some of the toughest gun control laws in the country yet violence using guns still occurs. Access to guns does not cause these tragedies; access to fertilizer does not cause bombings; access to jet planes does not cause 911. People are the sole cause of these tragedies, and people make and use tools. its what distinguishes us from apes. you will not stop people from being violent by eliminating their access to the tool du jour.

God, these liberals are retarded. If you take guns from responsible gun owners, then only the criminals will have them. Easy picking for them. The solution is that we should have more gun owners, and more concealed carrier permits. That way, if some nut job runs into a school to shoot it up, a faculty member can just lay him out like the animal he is.

I think even if a gun control measure is passed, it won't "take guns away" it will just halt production/sales, or change rules to get "the evil guns" All evil guns currently owned will be grandfathered in and still available to be purchased used. We are at least 50 to 100 years away from a confiscation, if it ever happens.
