The final straw for the Stern/Big Foot relationship came when he did Password with the french broad.
THSS had a big sponsor that had something to do with Bigfoot and they really wanted Big Foot in the studio. Big Foot was as big a pain in the ass as he could be and THSS said enough is enough.
And since Big Foot made up a story about having scabies (for sympathy) Howard ain't gonna have him in the studio again.
Correction: I now do have a vague recollection of Big Foot being in the studio and asking where his money is and he was told he'd get it right after the show. Maybe by the end of the day, I'll remember the specifics.
All this leads to the question, who's exploiting who? Big Foot and Hillbilly Jim don't give a damn about the show or anybody else. All they wanted was the money. Big Foot didn't know what a Howard Stern was before the Wackpack contest. And Big Foot sure as hell exploited me and everyone else he comes in contact with.

Howard doesn't have the best track record of paying fairly compensating his bet talent or caring either. This did make for some funny radio though.

No residuals. I have always wondered how Howard gets away with it.
Same with old radio shows.

Big Foot Sr. is going to be royally pissed when/if he finds out about Big Foot Jr.
Currently he's trying to figure out how to sue Channel 3 news for running a story about him without his permission. When I tried to tell him you can't sue a news organization if the story is true, he was having none of it and treating me like I'm retarded. "Why do you think I have to sign a release for THSS, it is?"
I told him that all those guys you see being led from court didn't give their permission to be on TV either.
For the record, Channel 3 news has yet to run a story about him. But Big Foot isn't going to let facts get in the way.

WWF/E did the same thing to Jesse Ventura. They didn't pay residuals for Jesse's voice on old tapes. "no one gets it".
Jesse took them to court and won after it was proved that Hulk Hogan got residuals.
If someone took HowardTV/Indemand to court they would win if they can prove that someone gets residuals.
But as usual. Wiggy is safe. He just license the name HowardTV/Content to Indemand. All HowardTV staff are payed and employed by Indemand.
Wiggy never takes risk or pays anyone. Its always other duped Goyish people who do. Even his wig person Tony is payed by Indemand.

Photography's a joke. Anyone can be a photographer. You do your scary great pictures because you're a professional. I'll take my stupid...automatic camera...take pictures and we'll see if people can tell the difference. - HS, 2-1-02
Nope I clearly remember him doing it in studio. It was literally as he walked in. I'm pretty sure he had his handler with him and was saying he needed to give him gas money or something. The reason it stood out was he was the only packer to ever do that on air and I had been wondering IF they were now getting paid.
edit: I'm thinking it wasn't his original handler. I think it was that 2nd guy that offered to move him in with him and his wife.

Depends what people signed. I suspect HTV is a non-union shop, as is the vast majority of reality TV. If it were bound by SAG/AFTRA, there might be an issue there, but I doubt it. They've always called Benjy a writer and Scott DePace a director. Unless nobody's watching, that's grounds for each of them at the WGA and DGA respectively. Other shows skirt around that by calling their writers "segment producers." Otherwise, you're paying the writers residuals when things air and re-air. I wonder how that changes in an onDemand environment, though.
On a related note: Richard Christy did the new theme music for HTV when they changed the set & graphics. Do you think he gets the residuals other TV music composers get?
Yeah, Herc...I don't think you'll find too many people arguing that point, but there are tons of pro-Jackie people here. I liked Artie, and he left a huge void that Howard refuses to fill when he left...but I think most of us agree that the Jackie era was the greatest of all time, and if anyone would like to argue that I'd like to hear their point of view.
To me, Jackie was always the most valuable player of the group. For Howard to blackball him out of the job just shows how fucking vindictive he truly is. Because who got short changed? The fans and Jackie of course but not Howard. Revisionist history or if you happen to listen to Stern, Robin, Gary, Fred will say one thing but it's horseshit.
Those other clowns don't miss a chance to make fun of Jackie but he helped them make more money than they ever did. Their undying loyalty to Stern is sickening. This has always been the sticking point for me: the Jackie ordeal and how it was handled.
