Scott Greenstein has always been a douche (according to other sirius talent). The only difference is the Stern show was once held on a separate pedestal above all the other talent, and Howard in particular was treated (and paid) like a king.

That was until he threw a hissyfit because after completing a 5 yr contract worth more than a half billion, and signing another for 400 million, he got all pissy because he thought he was owed another 30 million based on very dubious merits.

So if Fred wants to blame one person or event at Sirius for his treatement, it is Howard's lawsuit. From all accounts Fred doesn't seem to be making a big deal about it, only Howard is. It should be noted that I doubt Howard is upset because of the treatment of Fred, but rather how said treatment reflects on Stern's standing within the company

In the past Howard complained because Sirius allowed VIP's into events that were supposed to be for subscribers only but now he wants special treatment for his staff. Howard's just pissed because he's lost his clout, Sirius isn't kissing his ass any more, and it makes him look bad. This is all about Howard, not Fred.

Howard took a call from a guy asking if he could get some Bruce Springsteen concert tickets. Howard said he doesn't have any to give out. Howard said he hopes the company gives them out to the subscribers and not the big stars that they gave them out to last time for the McCartney concert. Howard said he was hoping to see fans at the show. Howard said he won't go to this one. Howard said he won't go because he's not being treated with respect there at Sirius. He said that he doesn't feel there's anything for him to celebrate. He said he would like to see the fans deck the halls and fill the concert hall. He said he'd rather not see Keith Richards' daughter sitting there. He'd hope that the fans would get in there instead. Howard said he hopes that Bruce is singing to the fans.

Exactly. He doesn't care if Fred was snubbed. He cares because the Howard Stern Show connection gets you nothing with Sirius.
