There was a bishop in New York named John Hughes. He first fought for catholic schools to be publicly funded. When that was not accepted he fought for public schools not to teach protestantism. He signed his name with a cross. It drove the evangelicals of the day crazy.

Wild. Some historians and doctors have suggested Hitler had Parkinson's later in life but that doesn't explain the strange way he writes "Adolf" in 1933.
