But, as the old people say, you wake up with who you went to bed with, and as someone who freely admits to having a lot invested into the show emotionally speaking I will be happily watching him complete his transformation into a fey Howard Hughes.

Howard sleeps tonight alone in an empty mansion wishing he could lose those last Freshman 15. I had to work a half day (on a fucking SATURDAY no less) then took apart a Mustang carb (it was a leaky accelerator pump diaphragm), cooked up some Onion Lo Mein and watched Netflix with a cat on my lap and a beer in my hand. I think I won going away.

Howard has essentially been running on fumes since that combustible mixture of no mo Jackie, coupled with lack of accountability to deliver ratings at Sirius slowly built up to his implosion.

It wasn't too obvious for awhile with Artie now picking up the slack from where Jackie's finger-cots feeding the funny into Howard's mouth left off Because the show continued to deliver funny, at least at first, Howard's true "spontaneity," Fred's poser "joke-writing" shortcomings, and the novelty of saying "fuck" on Sirius combined to mask its initial slow demise.

So essentially, Howard left to being funny without finger-cotted assists, Fred's inability to write creatively, Artie's metamorphosis into a pathetic waste and the absence of competitive ratings accountability all combustibly combined to evolve into the degraded morning zoo product that presently exists a few days a week.

You lost me at that first line. I give Stern credit for doing an entertaining show for 4-5 hours a day, but don't put him in the same conversation as those guys, two of whom could be considered geniuses. "You sound retarded."

The more Howard got in touch with his feelings, the less funny he became

You should look up Steve Dahl. He was around longer than Howard, and was the real person to pioneer Howard's style of shock-jock bullshit. Howard just ripped him off. Good for Howard for being successful at it. But, let's not pretend the wig is in someway pioneering. If he's anything, he's the king of thieves and liars.
