I stopped going to the gym two years ago, started smoking, eating shitty food and boozing. When I got tired of being out of shape after a year of this I decided to quit cold turkey and started to hit the gym hard-core. I couldn't believe how bad it had effected my stamina and it took me almost a full year to get back to where I was. I now run 7 miles and after that I spend an hour doing jump rope, push ups, pull ups and boxing. I do that three times a week now and it feels awesome.
