Actually have to compliment Howard

I know, I think Howard is a major sell out and douchbag but I have compliment Howard on his going through the "newspaper" and commenting on topical stories of the day. If Howard is coming up with the humorous quips on his own then his is in rare form but even if they are all written out, who ever is writing the stuff for Howard is doing a good job and Howard is doing a good job at reading. This seems to be a fairly recent part of the show and I like this much more than him continually trying to "beat up" on his staff.

It does make me wonder if he is slowly weening the audience away from Robin doing the news of the day and just letting Robin sit in on the show and comment as usual. And if so how serious is Robin's illness?

sorry to bump an old thread, but i listen to the show about 4 months behind schedule. and i had to comment on this. sometimes i'm bad at detecting sarcasm online...i'm pretty sure you're joking. i hope you are, anyway.

either way, what an awful turn of events this "howard riffing on the news" segment is. not that the show could get much worse.

someone in this thread mentioned that mike morse had been in studio lately. how do you know this? i don't think it was ever mentioned. was he seen on HTV?

more importantly, is howard still doing the hacky news shit as of march?

The other problem with doing the "news" when you're only on the air 3/5 of the working days of the month (if that) is that his "news" is no longer new.

Robin's role on the show is, and never has been, to provide content.

Her role was to serve as a sounding board to Howard's stream of consciousness...when Howard didn't censor his every thought.

Or, as the legend goes, Robin was there so Howard could get away with making black jokes since there was a black lady laughing at 'em. Didn't Imus once tell Howard "I gotta get me one of those" referring to black women who allow him to make race jokes?
