So when I went out to clean stalls this morning I found one of my barn cats "fighting" with this.....



.....I managed to pull it from the cat's maw twice and let it fly away (after annoying it by taking a pic).

So is it a small hawk, mini-falcon, bad ass pigeon, obese finch?

Yes, it's a red tail. They are beautiful. I wonder how the cat got him.

The barn was closed except for one large slider door so it just got trapped inside. There are these frosted panels on the sides of the barn that let in light so I think it just got confused on how to get out. The cat didn't get him until I walked in.....pretty killer cat acrobatics to get him.
