The monologue is Howard's way of trying out doing the show by himself if/when Robin can't do the show anymore. He is changing his dynamic from talking to/playing off of Robin to setting up his own jokes....

Maybe or it's that Howard is completely out of pc safe ways to bring on the funny and his current staff has all the funny that he's willing to pay for - which is none..

Good lord, the man has Jackie the Jokeman waiting in the wings drooling to get back on this shitfest who is perfect for this monologue - straight jokes type of things.

Who is behind this crappy monologue that's he's been doing the last few days? It's terrible. Leno is funnier.

"Let's see what's in the paper today. Oh, Kate Middleton has morning sickness. You know who has morning sickness? Me, I'm sick of getting up in the morning! (hilarity follows from Fred, George, and Robin). She gets sympathy for being pregnant. Where's my sympathy for having to look at High Pitch Eric's fat belly?! (more laughter from Fred, George, and Robin). Today is the King of Thailand's birthday. I bet I know his birthday wish -- to get out of Thailand!"
