What is the truth, what is the faithful lasting proof?
What is the central theme to this everlasting spoof?

The four kings of EMI are sitting stately on the floor
There are birds out on the sidewalk
And a valet at the door

    Stones for me.

The Beatles did a double album under comfortable conditions and was a mess. Yes, it would have made a great single album (as said by George Martin himself) but they opted to be over-indulgent, petty and dismissive of each others contribution and the project suffered as a result.

The Stones on the other hand decided to flee England like outlaws, put up with Keith's heroin addiction by working on his time table and record a double album in a friggin' musty basement. It's considered a modern masterpiece.

I'll take Exile On Main Street any day of the week.

I could've guessed that from your AV.

    Obviously.
But remember... the Beatles needed the Rolling Stones. Just like God needs the Devil and Diane Sawyer needs Katie Couric...

The Stones were always trying to catch up to the Beatles. Beatles did psychadelic music first, stones had to put out a psychadelic album.

Kind of like how Droid phones keep following what Apple does with the iPhone. The copy cat is good enough, but the original is best.
