I was glad to see Capones crew and Chalkys band make nice. Harrow showed how loyal to Jimmy he remains. Eli is starting to build up trust again and it was enough of Gip already. It was a 9 as far as these things go, can't wait for more.

Now THAT would be an interesting storyline! Jillian, hooked on H, turned out of house and home by Nucky and forced to give HJs at the boardwalk

It couldnt have been Rothstein, as he would have just had him killed (unless the crooked cops were just looking to buy the H)
I was confused on the whole thing too. I guess that AR turned on Lucky for a couple of reasons.
    A. To teach him a lesson when Lucky strays beyond AR's approval
    B. To seize the operation once he ran the numbers.

I'm guessing he brought in Masseria into the equation for a couple of reasons as well.
    A. AR wanted to keep him on his good side. He already told Lucky and Meyer once that Masseria was a powerful man to be respected.
    B. To sell him on the idea on being in the lucrative heroin business with AR in control. In exchange for this venture, AR had Masseria pull his support from Gyp in Atlantic City. Remember, AR was positioning himself to acquire 99% of the Mellon distillery from Nucky.

It's the best I can do right now.

I didn't know. I would not have been one bit surprised if Richard would have sacrificed himself for Tommy. I was stunned when he pulled the shot off though. Richard had numerous head shots in the midst of all that confusion.

AR's primary motivation was to take control of the distillery, that was the most important factor (it's probably a multi-million dollar operation). This required him getting Masseria on his side. He used the cops to roll Lucky, who controlled Masseria's heroin supply (Lucky tells Meyer that he will pay to replace the lost 50lbs). Once AR had Masseria's heroin, he had more influence over Masseria than Gyp did, with his empty promises to deliver him Nucky and AR's businesses. Thus, AR controls the distillery, takes control of the heroin operation, gets Masseria back on his side, and gets rid of Gyp, who was planning on killing him.

Nucky then outmanouvers him by using the old businessman to clear AR's people out of the distillery, and kills Masseria's men as they evacuate.

I was thinking AR brought in Masseria as incentive to call off his support for Gyp.

So youre saying they were just fucking with LL the whole time?

Who was LL gonna kill then?

I dont see how AR could let LL live if he turned him into the (crooked) cops. Even if it was a setup, AR found a rat.

(and i dont see them killing LL off, as that would be WAY off historically; LL 'delivered' Sicily in WW2 to the allies hes not dying)

I percieved the whole deal/arrest to be a set up from the start. AR found out somehow meyer and lucky financed the H buy from Maseria, and the crooked cops were already in ARs pocket...
