If he would've put himself in danger in order to save people, that'd make him a hero. He was already on the plane, in the pilot's seat, it was his job to land the plane. He wasn't off duty, parachute onto the plane, fight off 3 hijackers and land the plane, he was in the cockpit doing his job. He's an outstanding pilot, not a hero.

Well, that is an interesting perspective.
