I have never understood why Ebeneezer has resentment for Fred just because his beloved sister died in childbirth with him. I woud think that would have made him embrace the boy all the more.

There is a definite warming up period until you get used to his style, but then.....he's so fascinating and the endings are always such a huge payoff that it makes it well worthwhile

I love Dickens, but I gotta say, the man could write a 10 page long sentence, using Victorian sarcasm, to say what could have been said in 10 words....but it's kinda fun.

I like that one and also the 1938 version and the 1984 George C. Scott version. And when I was a kid, I remember an animated version that was kinda creepy.....
