there's more unwed mothers and out of wedlock babies now than there was 100 years ago, yet there is substantially more contraceptives, sex ed in schools, and general knowledge about how to make babies now than there was back then
and i'm no history buff, but i'm pretty sure they had 14-16 year olds back then too
