My kids: one in a senior in high school The other is in 7th grade. I think I could keep it to 2-3 nights a week. I'm thinking the money difference is going to be 20-30k a year. It certainly hasn't been offered yet. I wouldn't have to travel internationally on any kind of regular basis. But probably monthly around the SE and Atlantic coast.

3 nights per week, 16 extra hrs per day from home......based on $30k extra per year that's $12 per hour for the time from home. It's certainly a great pay bump but 2-3 days per week actually is being away quite a bit. Depends on what you and the mrs. find acceptable. I am by no means wealthy and have a bit of debt but to pry me from my farm I gotta get paid $20+ per hour.

I'd pass but, again, I'm a pussy and value my home time above most everything else. I actually enjoy hanging with my wife and pets.

Well, I am overnight now too. It isn't going from no overnights to 2-3. More like 2-3 from 1-2. I like my family too. And like I said, I'm not being offered anything yet.

Yeah, I didn't know your current work situation so I just applied my hillbilly math skillz to the problem.

I'm sure you can find a good balance and make it work if you get the offer and go for it. Good luck!

agree with baddfunn, go for the gusto and take the offer for job #1 if they offer it
