Black Friday tramplings update thread

People are civilized around the San Francisco Bay Area. I stood in a 1-1/2 hour line at old Navy while my daughter was shopping and the line was twice the size after I left. No incidents. They gave away discount coupons "let's Make Deal"-style by asking people to answer trivia or show a cough drop, red pen, pic of a grandma, etc. The worst thing that happened besides standing in a 1-1/2 hour line was some punk kid who tried to cut line in front of me. I stood in one more 20 minute line at another clothing store and was done for the day.

Something tells me Wal-Mart knows they can do something to avoid these tramplings but they don't.

One last thing: it's one thing if customers want to risk their lives for cheap merchandise, but how would you feel if your kid was one of those teenagers who works at a Wal-Mart, is told to slap on one of those ridiculous "security" vests and then "commanded" into the melee?

It's ridiculous and medieval.
