Remote control. I remember when my parents used to make my brother/sister and myself take turns changing the channel for them. And adjust the "bunny ears".

The bicycle...probably the most effecient use of self driven power ever...amazing really, not much harder than walking, yet it carries you 5 times faster...and the basic design still holds true...plus it's good for you...and uses no fuel......oh and you see soooo much more on a bike than you see in a car.....I could go on and on

They had a story on that show How the states got their shapes, good show btw, but the gist of it was how if A/C was never invented people would not even live in most Western states cuz it's way too hot.
