Finished the software update finally. Got Netflix up and running too. Now their is a software update for Super Mario Bros.

Really? I loved Wind Waker and thought Twilight Princess was solid...even if it felt like more of the same.

The problem with Zelda is that too many people will be pissed if anything's significantly changed. Since OaT, every Zelda game has essentially been the same, but with a different look. It's a double edged sword.

I wish there would be a new Zelda but with the classic top down look from the originals. Ever since N64 came out with Ocarina of Time, the whole franchise IMO, went to shit. But sadly I'm in the minority and most people love the new Zelda type games. Oh well...

Interesting reading the comments (from grown men) here. I wouldn't have expected folks to be so sentimental about a gaming platform.

My first "console" was a Magnavox Odyssey 2000


After that, I got the first Nintendo and played it up until around 1991. After that, it was PC gaming...Wolf3d, DOOM, Quake, DN3D, etc. I did pick up a Dreamcast to hack it, but it was orphaned before it had a chance.

I've never gone back to consoles...I just hate the controllers. I still do a bit of PC gaming (via Steam), but my tastes are mostly old-school (Serious Sam HD series) and weird shit (Dear Esther). Most console games seem either too complex or too kid-oriented. I just like to kill stuff.

I'm sure somebody mentioned it on this thread but how much is a basic WiiU console and how many controllers do you get? Oh, and is Mario included (I doubt it is)? If there is a deluxe model what does it include? Thinking about getting one for my nephew for X Mas.

Basic is white with 8g and no games 299

Deluxe is black with 16g and Nintendoland game 349

Both only include one of the new controllers, but they are fully back compatible to original controllers and most games.

Stumbled on a Deluxe at Target yesterday, so decided to get it for my 12 year old son for Xmas.
