Gary's not one of the good guys. He's a pompous dolt who somehow never let the humiliation directed toward him sink in to his thick skull. I really wish 'what do you do for a living' hadn't become a joke because it's completely white-washed Gary in his own element; looking down on us common folk because he lucked into a lottery ticket job where the only requirement is to have a pulse and an alarm clock. It manifests itself differently, but they all have the Howard Stern show virus. The longer you're there, the more fucked up you are.

Here's a video from You Tube by the psychopathic narcissist guru Sam Vaknin. If you can get by the accent he explains how victims become narcissistic themselves.
Disclaimer: Do a google search on Sam Vaknin before becoming one of his disciples. He is an authority because his talks are somewhat auto-biographical. There are very good reasons that he was forced to stop calling himself "Dr. Sam"

BTW, Richard is the only guy there that would give you the shirt off their back!

    Sure,

    1. Won't let the Shatner thing go. Inserts insults towards him at every possible chance. Laughs scornfully whenever he's brought up. Won't believe Shatner when he said he didn't get a wedding invite, etc. Won't be gracious when Shatner attempts to reconcile. Even if Shatner is a narcissist, they were on a show 45 years ago where Takaei was just a bit player. Fails to acknowledge that there wouldn't have even been any Star Trek movies w/o Shatner's participation. A jealous diva who can't stand the spotlight on someone else.

    2. Obsesses on being interned for 2 years when he was a little kid and too young to even really know what was up. Insists it was "racism" when obviously it was for security reasons based on (later realized) unfounded fears. When the threat of invasion subsided, the camps were disbanded. Japanese Americans outside the West Coast exclusion zone were not interned. Many Italian and German nationals were also interned, even before we were at war with them! The alien registration act of 1940 required citizens of Italian and German descent to register too, not just Japanese. Those not interned were restricted to certain areas and suffered other limitations on freedoms. Not a peep about that. Fails to acknowledge that Americans, Dutch, and Britons in Japan and conquered areas were imprisioned and treated orders of magnitude worse by their Japanese captors. (rape, starvation, beatings, etc) Or that historically internment was common during wars where invasion was considered possible or imminent, and large populations of foreign born or bred residents were present and feared to be subversive. Executive order 9066 affected aliens of European descent, but again, not a peep on that. He speaks a lot about internment but I've never heard a word from him about the record of the Japanese military in conquered lands at the time the internment happened. (hint: rape, mass murder). He conveniently omits the fact that a Japanese resident allowed to move about freely plotted out the locations of every ship at Pearl Harbor to help them plan their attack. Even 70 years later, when even a casual perusal of evidence would show that after Pearl Harbor, while there was indeed anti-Japanese sentiment, the internment itself was not racially motivated, yet he insists on promoting the agenda of the racist white man. The most virulent racism of the time was that of the Japanese. They put Germans to shame on that. A girl who married outside her race would be shunned. To this day Japan is 99% Japanese. Millions were enslaved by Japanese during the war based on the idea they were inferior beings. As for interning naturalized US citizens, you tell me. If you moved to Syria for a better job and later became a citizen there, would you not help US forces should they become involved there? Or would you fight for the Syrians? In 1942, there was no way of knowing, and in their minds the threat of invasion was real (though actually almost impossible due to logistical limitations). Someone who writes plays based on this topic would have to know all the above. Yet he's bitter they took his family's business so he's out for payback. JA in 1942 got a raw deal. The actual victims should get proper restitution. But it is defamatory to make various claims of racist motives, especially when he was picking his nose and shitting his britches at the time.

That, folks, is a bitter man.

    Interesting points.

I have quite a bit of experience with the Japanese, and I can say for a fact that being half or second-generation Japanese can be a bummer in many respects. The romantic image is that these people get the best of both worlds, but in reality they are in danger of being shunned by both sides. For one thing, Japanese is a notoriously difficult language to learn, and if you're not perfectly (and I mean perfectly) fluent, I guarantee you will have trouble mingling in your native land. (Judging from the few audio clips I've managed to find, George seems to be rather far from native fluency.) I know of many cases where this stuff has caused all sorts of identity crises and insecurities. And these are kids who were born in the 80s. I can't even begin to imagine what it must've been like when George was growing up.

I bet he's had to go through a lot...

But who would want his smelly shirt when he never bathes or brushes his teeth. That part of Richard just creeps me out. I love Sal though, he is the funniest guy on the show IMO. I also think Jason is very honest and does his job very well by stirring shit up in the back office.

Despite his paranoia & overall dumbness (or maybe because of it?), i like Ronnie. I reckon he's probably a good guy.

What's wrong with that? Do you have some special insight into his psyche? Or do you have some special interaction with him that causes you to harbor such hate?

All I have to go on is what I hear on the radio. Gary seems like a decent guy to me, not too lost in the shit-storm of me-me-me-me-me, that is Howard Stern and Robin Quivers.

    Maybe I'm wrong....maybe he's a complete butt-munch....but as far as I can tell from what I hear.....I LIKE Gary.
i don't think the OP meant anything about being charitable to people in the stern universe...what he meant to ask is, are there any truly charitable people associated with the show?
the real answer is, richard. he grew up in the midwest, the son of a veteran and farmer. most of the others grew up in the east coast/metro area vortex. richard grew up with simple and good values. the rest, not so much.

I have to think Howard is the most charitable person from the show. He gives the finger to his fans everyday
