ABC TV has cancelled "Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue"

They will finish with the 13 episodes that were already shot. I knew "Last Resort" would be cancelled. The scripts were getting worse and worse. Nuclear sub thrillers are fine provided they stay on the sub. Once they put the actors on the island it became "Lost" Never watched 666 Park Avenue. I do know that ABC had high hopes for both dramas. "Last Resort" was being touted as the best show of the new season. The first episode was great. "Nashville" might be moved to Sunday. There is a good chance they will cancel " Nashville" too but it will probably run a full season. When are networks going to realize that serial dramas have almost no chance to succeed. They are still looking for the next "Lost" that can run 5-7 years. CBS has the right idea. Just keep cloning procedurals. You can change their name CSI, Person of Interest, Bluebloods but they are all the same. The crime is solved or the court case is decided in 52 minutes. The best part is you can spawn the shows. CSI from different cities or take a character from a show and give that person their own show. I remember when ABC ruled as the King of the networks and CBS was in toilet. NBC was once King now their in the toilet. CBS hasn't given up the top spot in a long time. Good news for Howard, his show Arrow on the CW is a big hit and is certain to be given another season.

No network show is 52 minutes, they are about 40 minutes, sometimes 42. 666 Park Avenue's sets were damaged in Hurricane Sandy and that played a part in ABC cancelling the show. I really like it.

Too bad, 666 was pretty good. I like John Locke. I'm sure they are readying the next forgettable sitcom about two wacky homos and all their wacky friends ttrying to raise a kid or some such bullshit.

I watched the first 2 Last Resort episodes when they aired.

I was going to watch the 3rd episode last night. I'm glad I didn't.

I liked the pilot, but I had no idea it would turn into Lost.

    I hate Lost.

At times like this, I'd love to see a side-by-side comparison of the shows the networks ended because they're ratings "aren't what they once were" in favor of these new, absolute shit shows.

For instance, this year, FOX is ending one of my most favorite shows of all time, FRINGE. Let's see how many other shit shows they put in its place that tank after 13 episodes.

Know what I think they should do?

Air these new shows on the web only and unless and until they grab enough viewers after a full season, then and only then can they get on television.

    Just an idea.

I've tried to hate that show, but it's pretty decent. You know, a chick with enough money to go after the people who fucked up her life. It's no Breaking Bad, Homeland, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, but it's tolerable.

It's all about Emily VanCamp, the hottest girl on TV.

I like "Last Resort," although it has become a bit "Lost"ish. The script has seemed to somewhat meander a bit, but I've still enjoyed it.

I LOVED "Lost." Haters be damned, it was still a great show.

The network show I've been hooked to this season is "Elementary." The guy who plays Sherlock Holmes is great. And even though Liu is getting long in the tooth, I like her role as Watson.
I say, did anyone listen to Howard Stern this morning? He had some strippers in the studio, they sounded hot, then he made a joke about a negro, but Robin laughed so it was ok. - Stewie Griffin

I loved LOST too, but I think I loved it because I watched it, start to finish. I didn't have to wait week by week for it to end.

Same thing with Battlestar Galactica. A lot of people hated the ending, but I watched it, start to finish, after the series ended and it's my favorite show of all time.

As far as Elementary goes, I tried. I got through about four episodes, but it's too formulaic. Everything is wrapped up in 42 minutes.

Yeah. I've yet to see any serious drama with gay people where there isn't a "magic homo" (ą la Spike Lee's "magic negro").

Thirtysomething tried it in the 80s, but the evangelicals went berserk.

Well...Just about EVERY show is going to wrapped up in 42 minutes. If that's a show killer for you, then you should sell your TV.

Dexter, Homeland and Boardwalk Empire only last so long too.
