It's actually something that I don't agree with the Jews about. Harry Truman had a spot in Africa all ready to go for them after WW2. The Jews refused and insisted on Israel. It would have been a lot easier if they wouldn't have been so stubborn about it.

well yes, but according to their faith it was written by divine inspiration, which means it is the word of god. the land was god's promise to the jews, so for believers, it would not work to just move. not saying i agree and i don't really care that much, but it's pretty well at the center of the whole religion if i'm not mistaken.
