This is the Henry Hudson Bridge. It looks like they're gonna lay off all the Toll collectors. I can only imagine the rest of the bridges to follow suit.
What will change for Cash customers?
Cash payment for tolls will no longer be accepted at the Henry Hudson Bridge starting Saturday, November 10th at 11 PM. All drivers will proceed through the toll plaza WITHOUT STOPPING AND USE ANY LANE. No changes for E-ZPass customers.
How Will I Pay Tolls?
Your toll can be paid with an MTA E-ZPass at the lower rate or the Tolls by Mail program at the higher cash rate.
What’s Tolls by Mail?
Vehicles without an E-ZPass are identified by license plate number and owners are mailed a bill. Tolls are charged at the higher cash rate. Unpaid bills are subject to late fees and violations.

When I lived in Dallas, I had to drive the North Dallas Tollway every fucking day, often multiple times in a day.....Those electronic toll-tags were a gift from god......

In Illinois they have an ipass system. You can get the ipass and fly through or stop and go and the manual lane is double. Would you pay twice as much and spend more time to insure the human keeps his job or give into the evil big money for the cheaper price and ease? Originally Posted by Bro

in Cali, they just turned 2 carpool lanes on the 110 into Toll lanes; they even post how much it would cost to zoom down the now empty lanes. My ride home every day would be about $8.

Talk about a drain on the system. MTA toll collectors make a mint. Especially if they've been there for 30 years. I still recognized guys that I saw regularly 15 to 20 years ago.

One they get everyone locked into Ezpass, they can then proceed to debit your acct for the chicken shit tix they give with the traffic light cams

Stop and go is hell on a car. My 8 cylinder can average 38 miles per gallon going 45 mph with no stops. Otherwise it averages 17. Originally Posted by MatthewT
