Second, the company wanted a reduction in pay, it was necessary to keep the company going, the workers not only rejected the pay cut, they asked for higher money. They had them picketing on WGN here with the workers talking to the reporters.

Third if you are going to get work done on your house, you call two companies, the both do equal quality work, will be done in the same amount of time and both guarantee their work. One company is going to charge you 2000 dollars, the other company is going to charge you 1000 because he hasn't had much work lately and is trying to get the job. I'm sure you'll say you want to help the working man and give the job to him and pay him the same as the other company was going to charge. All because you like the working man. Don't pigeon hole me and I wont you.

I can be long winded and I'm uneducated so I see why you wouldn't bother reading anything I've posted. I never blamed the CEO for ruining anything or even faulted him for taking his parachute. I think it is ethically shady but that's just me. Nothing illegal was done so "fine". It is what it is.

The higher money they asked for amounted to substantially less than they were getting prior to the hearty concessions they agreed to prior. My guess (and I may be wrong......see, I admit fault) is that since the company violated the contract and stopped paying into the employees' pensions LAST YEAR that they wanted a bit of that back. Company still ahead in the long run (theoretically).
