I'm with the frog on this one. You allow this kind of shit to screw up real music and it screws up the whole world. Next thing you know the fucking Bee Gees will be doing Sgt. Pepper.

To tell the truth, I think the movie version is haaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrible, BUTT, it helped me understand the narrative aspect. Musically, I prefer the studio version infinitely...And Tommy doesn't know what day it is...

I listened to Jesus Christ Superstar the other day. I felt kinda weird but, musically it's a great piece of music.

the performance on broadway this past summer was great. the cast had some powerful voices in it, and they all blasted out the music 100% as in the original Brown album for every performance. as the show started the announcer would say "if you feel the need to unwrap a lozenge, or cough, please do not worry about the noise because the music will drown you out." ( I saw it 5x this summer - the closing show was fantastic).

    and they were all canadians

don't. seeing it detracts from a fantastic album.

I actually saw the movie Before I ever heard of the Who when I was in Seventh grade.I became obsessed with them after that and My parents got me The Tommy CD for Christmas and I was surprised to find that it was an actual rock and ROll album .

Josh Young was a non-traditional Judas but on stage he stole every number.

Jesus Christ Superstar is fantastic! I used to listen to the album over and over again. I've only seen local productions of the play however, never on Broadway. Luckily for me, the productions weren't half bad.

Pretty damn good arrangement too. I bet that was a great show to see.
