you may have hit on a possible reason....people who watch these stupid shows also read gossip columns and watch extra. after awhile hearing about celeb parties in the hamptons and this celeb hanging out with that celeb, the schlub sitting at home begins to resent the smugness emanating from a matt lauer or a katie couric.....and that's a good thing. it becomes a matter of not identifying with the hosts. THey're easing out Lauer and bringing in Willie Giest who I love. I never watch crap like the today show but if that happens I may watch.

A local station that just concentrated on fucking traffic could get great ratings. All traffic, maybe a ticker.
