i think you miss the point of giving: you give for yourself.

if someone else fucks up after that, its not your issue. if you want to take a deduction for it, its for your charitable gift not for what they do with the money. as long as the tax laws permit that, its ok. if you don't like the tax laws you change them.

that you have issues with the way the govt handles disaster relief, and the act of making charitable donations, are two totally separate things.
